Reengage UK (previously Contact the Elderly) seeks to encourage older people who live alone, or in sheltered housing are are feeling lonely to develop social interests by bringing companionship into their lives, to help establish contact with others, and to encourage younger people to devote some of their time to helping older people find companionship and new friendship groups.
Reengage arranges regular social gatherings at over 900 venues across the UK. In response to the COVID pandemic, the Call Companions service was introduced bringing people together with a volunteer by phone. Reengage plan to keep the Call Companions service running after COVID restrictions are lifted.
