This accessibility statement applies to the LifeCurve Public website Living Well Falkirk (http://livingwellfalkirk.lifecurve.uk). This website is run by ADL Smartcare.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. Living Well Falkirk is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

The following tasks still require further development:

1.1.1 - Images, image buttons, and image map hot spots do not all have appropriate, equivalent alternative text.
1.4.10 - No loss of content or functionality occurs, and horizontal scrolling is avoided when content is presented at a width of 320 pixels.
3.3.7 - Information that a user must re-enter to complete a single-session process must be auto-populated or available for the user to select, unless re-entering the information is essential to the functionality, the information poses security issues, or the previously entered information is no longer valid.

We aim to resolve these issues by the end of December 2024.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria:

Images of text are only used for decorative purposes.
Re-authentication after a session expires does not cause loss of data.
Some videos have sign language interpretation.
Elements of the page such as hyperlinks are identifiable and navigable outside of context.
There is no unnecessary motion animation.
The user can swap between different input devices. For example you can open a menu with the mouse and then use the keyboard to navigate.
