Children with disabilities: Help and support for children and their carers
If you have a child with a disability, Social Work services may be able to offer you help at home, access to specialist equipment and short breaks away from home for your child. You will need to have an assessment of your needs to find out how Social Work can help.
Depending on the assessment, you may be able to use the following services:
- Help at home, including providing specialist equipment your child may need
- Short breaks away from home for your child
- Access to an activity scheme that provides social and recreational opportunities during school holidays
- Youth clubs and befriending throughout the year
Social Work services can also help you apply for benefits you may be able to get. For more information, visit: https://www.falkirk.gov.uk/social-care/disabilities/help-for-people-with-a-disability
Please contact your local Social Work office, call 01324 506070 or email cwdt@falkirk.gov.uk and ask for an assessment.
