Paths for All

Paths for All has the ambition to increase the number of people across Scotland who walk every day and in turn enjoy the benfits of walking in improving wellbeing and preventing ill health. Paths for All offer a number of volunteer-led walks, including Health Walks - theses are low level, accessible, short group walks that are free to attend, led by trained Walk Leaders along a risk assessed route, and support people who may not be very active at the moment to take part. There are also Dementia-friendly Health Walks, specially designed to support people living with Dementia to take part in Health Walks. Health Walk leaders will also guide you in trying strength and balance exercises that will help your strength and balance and are proven to help prevent falls. The most up-to-date UK Chief Medical Officers’ Physical Activity Guidelines recommends adults over 65 should aim to do things that improve their balance and co-ordination at least twice a week.
